European Journal of Probation
European Journal of Probation was launched 1 April 2009 and was until 2011 a biannual e-journal (1 April and 1 October). From 2011 onward the journal has three issues per year (15 January, 15 May and 15 September). European Journal of Probation is a peer review academic journal aiming to promote comparative research on probation and community justice across Europe. The planning process for this new Journal has been greatly strengthened by the co-operation with the new Journal EuroVista. Probation and Community Justice (formerly the British probation management journal VISTA, now about to be relaunched as a European journal sponsored by CEP). The two new Journals are aiming to co-operate rather than to compete, with the European Journal of Probation concentrating on articles which provide substantial accounts of research on probation topics (particularly, we hope, comparative research) while EuroVista. Probation and Community Justice aims to present more applied material which will concentrate on practical implications for staff and managers in probation and other criminal justice agencies. The two Editorial Boards have some members in common and we look forward to a very fruitful partnership. The Editorial Board of the Journal includes well known academics and criminal justice professionals from twelve different countries. Starting with 1 May 2009 European Journal of Probation is in ProQuest CSA Applied Social Sciences Index & Abstracts (ASSIA) database. Since June 2010 European Journal of Probation is also covered in EBSCO database. The Editorial Board welcomes contributions in the form of articles or book reviews.
